Although having gone to church from the age of two, it wasn't until she was In her mid-thirties that she discovered it wasn't enough to know about Jesus - but that you had to know Him personally.
After a teenage marriage, which only lasted a year, she led a double life as a youth leader in the church, trying to please God - and as a pleasure seeker with no thought for God. After being 'born-again', her life totally changed and her desire was now to serve her Saviour.
lshbel loves to sit and write about her thoughts, and publishes a bi-monthly newsletter for the ministry which contains some of these thoughts, news on the ministry and a prayer diary for the wonderful group of people who cover Walter, lshbel and the boys in prayer. This newsletter has grown from an original 30 copies (which were never all used!) to a mailing list which now needs hundreds of copies! Many letters and phone calls are received about how this newsletter has spoken to and greatiy encouraged people.
Put on the Garments of Praise is a booklet written by Ishbel, under Gods direction, for everyone who desires to worship a mighty God who is more than worthy of our praise. It too has been a tool that has enabled many people to be set free to praise our wonderful Father God, and to set others free from depression. There have been countless testimonies about the way this little booklet has touched peoples lives. God has spoken to Ishbel about other things she has to share - so more booklets are on the way!
Sharing the Word is another area lshbel is being used in, and many Christians have been ministered to and challenged to look at their Christian walk.
Praying with other ladies in intensive one-to-one sessions is another area God has been using Ishbel in, although both Walter and Ishbel are happy to pray for anyone at any time and always make it known at meetings that prayer is available because they know that God answers prayer. lshbel longs to see people set free from the things that are binding them, and she wants to see people released into LIFE - abundant life in Jesus.
