Walter and Ishbel Stevenson

The devil comes to steal, kill and destroy but I have come that you may have life, and that you may have it more abundantly.
John 10:10

The ministry is God's. Walter and lshbel have simply made themselves available and are willing to be used by their Saviour so that others can know His mercy, His grace, His unfailing love, His compassion in their lives and to encourage folks to get closer to their Father God and experience His power in their lives.

Both Walter and Ishbel have an easy, informal, simple way of ministering which relaxes people and they can open up to receive from God. This is an ordinary couple with an extraordinary God! Walter and Ishbel build a relationship with the people they minister to.

Walter and Ishbel are available for meetings, churches, fellowship dinners, prisons, nursing homes - in fact anywhere there are people interested in hearing what God has done in their lives.

They can do several types of programme ranging from 45 minutes sharing to a full 2 hour concert. They are also willing to do a full weekend, or more, with churches and fellowships which could include a praise and worship seminar on Saturday morning, gospel concert to help in outreach on Saturday night, share the Word with a little music Sunday morning and testimony and music on Sunday night. Men's breakfasts, and / or ladies lunches could be included. They simply want to help the pastor reach out to others.

Walter and Ishbel have taken up God's call to spread the gospel, first and foremost because they believe it is God's plan for their lives, but also because they have a burden for people and want to see lives changing as folks come to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour and they want to see people growing in the Lord and going forward with Christ!

The aims of this ministry are:
  • To reach out to people by testimony in word and song telling how God has moved in their lives. e.g. delivering Walter from alcoholism, how Walter was healed of fits as a child, healing lshbel of M.E. and healing Andrew when as an 18 month old child he pulled boiling water over himself but was left without a mark! How God has met their needs... By telling their story, they hope to teach the unsaved and backsliders, and also encourage Christians to trust God more.

  • To challenge Christians to get serious with God.

  • To help people understand the importance of praise and worship, the power that is in praise and why we have to do it. This is an area so vital for Christians both in their private times and corporately - yet so many are missing out because they don't understand that praise and worship isn't just singing. It is an effective tool for Christians to use in their walk with our precious Lord.

How you can help this ministry:

Walter and Ishbel very much value and appreciate prayer support. Prayer is an essential part of any ministry and is vital to our functioning effectively - please support us in prayer!

Obviously financial help is very much appreciated too, as Walter and Ishbel are not supported by any organisation or churches. If you feel led to contribute to the work of this ministry with financial help then please either send a cheque made payable to 'Released to Life Ministries' or contact Ishbel for bank details. If you are a tax payer, they are registered as Christian Workers with Stewardship Services and Ishbel can send you details of tax-effective giving.

Walter and Ishbel minister in many places where they don't receive expenses and they are most appreciative of any gift they receive that enables them to continue this work. They just praise their wonderful Father God for His provision and for the people who are obedient to the prompting of God to give.
